I'm Insulted

 I'M INSULTED

Everywhere I look and listen and everywhere I read, I have learned I  voted for Democrats in this landslide of an election  because I am paying too much for gasoline, or if not gasoline, groceries and I simply won't stand for it. The pundits telling me why I voted for whom I did are not only incorrect, they are insulting not only to me but to all of us who voted for a Democrat in this last election.  It's not the war in Iran, it's not the desertion of Ukraine, it's not killing people in small boats in the middle of the ocean, it's not rounding up decent people and piling them into concentration camps, IT'S THE PRICE OF GAS!

The people explaining us to us are either obtuse or dishonest. Maybe just simpletons would be a better description.  Whatever description fits best, the level of explanation we have from our national and local media debases not only them, but us.  Apparently, I am unable to ascertain, by my ownself,  that the president of this country is incoherent, ignorant, unconcerned of others, without any merit or morals, and goes around the world killing people including school children  for what reason no one can ascertain.   But, and I say again, all I care about is the price of gasoline and the steak I might have bought if it weren't for screw worms.

This raises a larger issue and one I have raised previously - -  the Republican Party especially and the inhabitants of our national news studios work on the premise that we the people in this American Republic are ignorant and have no clue.  One example would be calling a person a socialist.  The Republicans have been using this word as a slur quite frequently recently. The person using the term may, but unlikely, have some clue of  what  socialism is; but it is a certainty that throughout the vast compass of American life, from coast to coast, there may be a few who do.  We can be an ignorant people but we are not an uncaring people.  Thankfully, in this last election, ignorant or not, the American people said enough is enough, we are done with this guy and our legislators who represent him.

This period of American life will be the subject of commentary, study, documentaries, ted talks, books, articles, and academic attention for decades to come - - that is if we survive it.  The deity that has brought Trump to save us from the brown hordes and other fictitious terrors has and will fail.  We will not save the Republic or ourselves by stupidity and brutality.  It doesn't work that way.
