Good Idea

 GOOD IDEA

Another good idea surfaces, and unfortunately,  good ideas are currently numerous - basically free floating.  We have a president that comes out with them regularly and now that we are soon to have an election, they are coming with greater speed.  It is amazing really, that such a mass of new thoughts can present themselves as suddenly as they do.

The latest is an announcement that he, Trump, and Putin have agreed to our purchase of diesel fuel. True, our diesel fuel is really expensive causing the increase in price of everything, which is not good just before an election.   Apparently we are now realizing Ukraine is responsible for this inflationary bubble.  They are blowing up Russian refineries and hence no diesel fuel.

Our president announcing that Zelensky should resign so Ukraine will stop bombing Russian diesel production is certainly a new thought and certainly interesting.  After all, we have been supporting Ukraine with money and equipment now for four years as has the European Union.  Be it remembered, Russia invaded Ukraine and it appears that hundreds of thousands have been killed.  Additionally, we have imposed sanctions on Russia for the purpose of crippling its economy.   Until recently we were getting most of our diesel through the Gulf of Hormuz.  However, our president, Trump, decided to bomb Iran, who surprisingly retaliated by shutting down fuel shipments from the Arab countries and Iran.

It seems reasonable to believe that our president is the person creating this scarcity in diesel fuel, who now wants to blame Zelesky for the high prices - vote for Republicans because it's not Trump's fault but he is going to fix it as long as he has a majority in congress.  It's this malcontent, Zelensky, whose country was invaded four years ago causing the high prices in diesel fuel.  It's just irresponsible, he says.  Zelensky needs to quit resisting the invasion immediately and let Putin take over his country, or as much of it he wants, forthwith or be removed as president.

The "war" in Iran was needed, Trump claims, even though it was not approved by Congress.  A president should be able to do anything he wants. He is, you know, at the head of the armed forces of the United States and who is going to stop him anyway.  Hegseth, who is his Secretary of "War", and who continues to fire the generals who are thought might uphold the constitution, will make every effort to anticipate the wishes of his president.

One must stop and think for a moment who will be paying for this oil.  It's a lot of oil and will be expensive.  My thought is, Trump should be personally responsible for payment - if it were ever to arrive.  I have no interest in supporting Putin and my understanding is Trump and Putin both have become billionaires since becoming president.  He may be able to afford it himself; on the other hand, the U.S. is 40 trillion in debt - - we don't need any more debt. Wouldn't congress have to authorize the funds for such a purpose anyway? And that seems really unlikely.

From what news coverage one sees of this war, Russia no longer has the diesel fuel to meet its own needs. And even if it did, how would it get here and when?  This is just more nonsense, more campaign noise.
